Help

The most important steps to get your family started with Etappe7.

Getting started

Five steps from account to the first word learned.

  1. 1

Create your account: name, email address and password – no payment details.

  2. 2

You receive an email with a confirmation link. One click – and your 14-day free trial begins. If you like it, choose a plan in the parents’ area afterwards.

  3. 3

Under “For parents”, add your children – each with a name and their own password.

  4. 4

Take a photo of the word list in your child’s textbook. Etappe7 recognises the words on the device, you check the preview briefly – and the course is ready.

  5. 5

Open the family link on your child’s device. Your child signs in with name and password and can start learning right away.

Put Etappe7 on your home screen

Etappe7 is a web app. Once it is on your home screen, it starts like any other app and works offline.

iPhone and iPad: open Etappe7 in Safari, tap “Share” and choose “Add to Home Screen”.

Android: open Etappe7 in Chrome, open the menu (⋮) and choose “Install app”.

On iPhone, reminder notifications only work if Etappe7 is on the home screen (iOS 16.4 or later).

Your own courses from a photo

Take a photo of a lesson’s word list. Etappe7 recognises the words right on the device and shows a preview where you can correct everything. Children may do this themselves if you allow it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Learning and games work offline. As soon as there is a connection again, Etappe7 syncs the progress.

What happens with a typo or an objection?

What counts is what the book says – word for word. After a typo you may type once more before the solution appears; the answer then counts as partly correct. If a child thinks the check was too strict, they can object (parents set how many per day). Until the parents decide, the answer counts as wrong – if they accept, it is counted as correct afterwards.

Can my child learn on several devices?

Yes. Progress belongs to the child, not the device. Each device is unlocked once via the family link.

My child has forgotten their password.

Your child taps “Forgot password” at the password field. You then get a notice and set a new password in the parent view.
